On April 30, 2025, the Association held its regular General Meeting, which brought together representatives of the member municipalities and the management in a working and responsible atmosphere. The meeting discussed key topics on the agenda related to the development of the organization, priorities for the upcoming period and strengthening the partnership between the municipalities. The meeting was held with high engagement and professional dialogue, with important decisions being made and specific steps outlined for more effective support to the members. The meeting reinforced the role of the Association as a reliable partner of the Bulgarian municipalities - with clear planning, responsibility and a personal attitude towards each member municipality.

The leadership of the DPS and the MPs from the PG of the DPS-NOVO NACHALO held a working meeting with mayors and representatives of local authorities. The meeting was hosted by the Association of Municipalities “Tolerance” and

was dedicated to the acute and growing problem of water shortages throughout the country.

During the meeting, the main reasons for the water shortage were discussed, including the drought in recent months, increased consumption and outdated water supply infrastructure. Specific measures to overcome the crisis were also presented, including the construction of new water sources, rehabilitation of existing networks and the introduction of a water supply regime when necessary.

The mayors informed about their active work and that they are doing everything possible to quickly and effectively resolve the problem. They have already taken a number of measures, including seeking additional funding and coordination with state institutions. The representatives of local authorities shared good practices and implemented successful projects for access to drinking water for people.

The topic of illegal dumps, which are increasing every day, was also touched upon. Options and ideas were proposed for dealing with this serious problem, leading to negative economic consequences and a negative impact on the quality of life.

The meeting noted that dealing with water scarcity requires both long-term investments and the active participation of the local community, acceleration of repair activities and stricter control over water losses.

The meeting was attended by the deputy chairmen of the MRF and the PG of the MRF - NEW BEGINNING Iskra Mihaylova-Koparova, Halil Letifov, Stanislav Anastasov, Yordan Tsonev, Nida Ahmedov - deputy chairmen of the MRF, mayor of Kaolinovo and chairman of the Board of the "Tolerance" association, Radoslav Revanski - deputy chairmen of the MRF and mayor of Belitsa municipality, Erol Myumyun - deputy chairmen of the MRF and mayor of Kardzhali, the deputy chairmen of the PG of the MRF - NEW BEGINNING - Hamid Hamid, Erten Anisova, MPs Atidze Veli, Ayten Sabri, Elvan Gyurkas, Fatima Yildaz, Kalin Stoyanov, Tsvetan Enchev, Dimitar Avramov and MP Taner Kabilov.

The mayors, members of the national association "Tolerance", chaired by Nida Ahmedov, mayor of Kaolinovo and deputy chairman of the DPS, met with the deputy chairmen of the PG of the DPS-NOVO NACHALO and deputy chairmen of the DPS Iskra Mihaylova and Khalil Letifov and Radoslav Revanski, deputy chairmen of the DPS and mayor of Belitsa, to discuss the processes of transition to the common European currency, measures against speculation and unjustified price increases and the protection of people from abuses by unscrupulous traders. The mayors must assist citizens, even in the most seemingly minor cases of unlawful "rounding" of prices up or in problems related to exchange or payment in euros. The meeting also discussed the legislative initiative of the PG of the MRF-NOVO NACHALO for the adoption of a law on the maximum surcharge, as a tool for supporting the most vulnerable groups - children, socially disadvantaged families and pensioners.

The task that our leader Mr. Delyan Peevski has set for us is to work and act in a way that responds to the trust that the people have given us, the MPs reminded the mayors.

The association presented a summary of good practices accumulated in the process of joint work with member municipalities. Emphasis was placed on effective communication, professional approach and personal attitude to the specific needs of each municipality. The initiative aims to encourage the exchange of experience and support the implementation of sustainable solutions at the local level.
